Elsevier’s SciVal offers a suite of services to support academic and government institutions in evaluating, establishing, and executing research strategies that optimise the performance of existing assets and maximise investments to enhance near and long term productivity.

In 2011, SciVal Funding App launched to provide targeted recommendations for researchers on funding opportunities related to their area of research. The app will retrieve up to five relevant funding opportunities to an abstract in SciVerse Scopus or ScienceDirect. The app uses the Elsevier Fingerprint Engine to match active funding opportunities to the abstracts, delivering targeted funding recommendations directly into researchers’ workflow. LexisNexis Legal & Professional

In 2011, LexisNexis Legal & Professional launched Lexis Advance, part of its New Lexis platform. Lexis Advance, built on a flexible technology platform, allows primary researchers within legal and professional organisations to more quickly find highly relevant information. Lexis Advance leverages enhancements created by unique content classification technology and leading edge search technology – including more than 18 million documents from 37,000 individual sources that are updated daily. New features in Lexis Advance include My Workspace, pre- and post-search filters, apps, work folders, Legal Issue Trail, Research Map, and Graphical Shepard’s, a citations database. Lexis Advance is the result of in-depth customer insight from more than 36,000 customers and prospects.
